Angels & Demons

Just a short shoutout to everyone:

"Angels & Demons is the bomb!"

As you can easily guess, le spunky witch, Mr Buu and Handsome Jay Jefferson C just watched the exclusive screening of the aforementioned movie. God bless Chombi for his thoughtfulness. :)

Suspense sial... exciting sial... Buat kitorang gripping our seats in suspense throughout the movie. We were wriggling in our seats most of the time, seething in their anger, almost understanding their frustrations, gasping at the gore and marvelling at Dan Brown's wizardly twisty plot. Me thinks he has a pile of brilliant mush nestled beneath his skull cap, same as me thinks of John Grisham.

I had to admit that the plot was not as cryptic as its prequel "The Da Vinci Code". But it's still a thrilling watch. I haven't had such stirred emotions since "The Dark Knight" where the Joker was eeriely brought to life by the late Heath Ledger who shares the same birthday as me. I love the Joker for his chilling lines since then.

Aitelliu... this awesome possum movie has officially been listed as one of spunkz fave movie of 2009. Plus you knwo what, I can't wait to lay my hands on the book!!! Hope BookExcess carries it. Yes yes, I sound like a nerd but to hell I care.. I just enjoy reading and finishing books in record time. It has become an unsatiated habit, if you may pardon me.

Anyhoos, security was extremely tight at GSC 1 Utama tonight as all of us had to go through a detailed security check before entry is granted. Greatly understood as the movie has yet to be released in Malaysia and measures were taken to prevent the movie from being leaked out. As cliched as it sounds, I gotta say this:

Be sure to catch it when "Angels & Demons" opens in cinemas nationwide on 14 May 2009! It will definitely be worth every single cent!

And guys.....
meet my new friend...
It's Mr Domokun!!!!!

Confessions of a Shopaholic

We just got back from the movie. And it turned out to be the special screening of this:

CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC!

And we'd actually thought we'd be watching a Chinese movie. rofl! Chombi managed to dupe Papz into thinking that we're watching a Chinese movie and had me lapping every word up.

I honestly have not read the book yet, even though it was the rage among my high school girlfriends back then. Time to grab a copy eh?Well, this is a must-watch for chick lit fans. Even though the 3 of us had never laid our eyes on the book before, it had us in stitches at quite a few scenes. Definitely light hearted and fun to watch. Enough to chase my blues away! hee..

The premiere would be held 2 days from now. There were actually 3 special screening rooms tonight, mainly for people who got the tickets from My.fm, Mix.fm and Era.fm.

Thanks to Chombi for the tickets again. We really appreciate it!

By the way, Chombi will be appearing in an ad on Astro's Shuang Xing (Double Star) Channel beginning 1st of April if all goes well. Try to spot this handsome monkey of mine if you have this channel. :)

Beautiful ending

I couldn't have had a better day..

Even though the day's been rough, a bundle of surprises awaited me at the end of it..

Chong, one of the most resilient friend I've ever known, dropped by the Esso in front of campus with the Cruisers of a local radio station for duty calls. I almost teared when i saw him because I missed him so much. We haven't really catch up since his birthday last August. It's great to see him settled down comfortably with that radio station job now.

Cuzzy dearest treated me to a most scrumptious dinner at Vietnam Kitchen even though he spent the whole day waiting for me to finish my tasks. It's been hard on you, cuzzy.. especially when it's your day off. Thank you so much~

Back at Leisure Mall, I met Chel, and so many of my dear friends whom I haven't seen for half a year. Most have switched jobs, though some still remained at our old workplace. Chel looks ravishing... as usual. Tee hee hee... Abang Halim even offered to treat me sushi. Mami Becky was there, and I couldn't stay later. I don't wanna make cuzz wait for me.

Secret Recipe Berry was flirty as usual when I complimented him of looking great. It's just mind blowing to see everyone again... though I never could stand his flirting. lolx. Ayang Shah & Nadia are both at Watson's now. And I heard my darling Syikin's working at Guardian. Goodness... how I wish I was back at Segar again.. where lunch would be at Awie, breaks with Chel at her fave bubble tea stall, visit Ayang at the burger stall at night.. fooling around with Noria, Epul & Aini..

Those were the good ol' days of yesteryear... geez.. I miss you people, I miss temping...

I'm gonna bawl... sheeesh..

Black + Purple + Red =

3 sampat pohs with brollies

Purple asks... will people with rain-soaked heads get sick?
Red doesn't think so.. because Red is always wet after shower. Before bed.
Black says they will. When they're old.

Black asks.. why can't we open brollies indoor?
Purple says... she doesn't know.
Red says... rumour has it a ghost will follow you home.
Black says.. erm. We just opened our brollies.

Foody-licious Weekend!

It has been an eventful weekend, beginning from Friday night itself. The Kuku's bought enough crabs to fill an entire fish tank. Nutters!! I estimated the crabs to be around 17 kg, as 1 kg amounted to RM 16. Because Uncle Peter told me he spent around RM 270 for that.

Blurry image of the crabs in the fish tank

So we had a 4-day crab fiesta all thanks to babibu Web for sponsoring the whole deal. Friday was "Crab ala Kam Heong" style (by Uncle Peter), Saturday was Baked Crab (by Auntie Grace), Sunday was Lemak Crab (by Uncle Peter again), and Monday was Butter Crab (by Michelle KuHitam aka Shelly)!

Joyous Raya descended upon us on Saturday. As soon as Princess B and Princess N safely reached the Ku Residence, everyone trooped to Uncle Ali Khan & Auntie Zarina's at Bangsar for the yearly open house celebrations! Auntie Zarina's food were lip-smacking as always, with the delicacy mango chutney making its rare appearance. Too bad I didn't have time to take some snaps of the delicious spread. On the other hand, Ali's Angels (Shereen, Shanaaz & Sophie) never fail to impress me with their beautiful designs and decorations in and out of the house.

Midway through the open house, babibu and me had to excuse ourselves and speed off to Plaza Damas to meet up with our former SCB colleague for a lunch appointment. As norm, we hopped off to where else but Paddington's House of Pancake! Babibu jadi Boss again.. hee hee. Look at what we had there:

Chunky fries for everyone!

Chipolata rolls for our kiddo bro, Sean

My main, Blini with minced chicken and tomatoes

Mami YY's main, American style with beef bacon, sunny side up egg ++

Babibu's choice of dollar pancakes
with ice cream, blueberries, banana, strawberries,
grated coconut, crushed nuts and maple syrup
(with a generous dollop of choc at the side)!

The food craze did not wane at all on Sunday even after 2 days of sinful gluttoning. Shortly after Uncle Peter took charge and whipped up a storm in the kitchen... Taa-daa~

Lunch was Fragrant Nasi Lemak accompanied by to-die-for Chicken Rendang, Kangkung Belacan, and Lemak Crab... We also had leftover Garlic Rice Balls from breakfast which was unbelievably tasty whether eaten on its own or with some ginger + onion + garlic pounded chilli. Lunch was served next to the garden, enabling us to enjoy the natural breeze on that relaxing Sunday. Actually I did not touch the crab at all on that day as a result of still jelak-ing from 2 days of crab. hehe.

Princess B had earlier announced on arrival that she wanted to bake 50 muffins for her lecturers and friends. Henceforth, we drag our lazy asses to Carrefour to get the ingredients before lunch. This is what we bakas did there... hur hur hur~

The dainty witches

The smoochy brown witch

And of course, we had no recipes at all due to the last minute informing. So we did exactly what the advent of modern technology would have encouraged us to do. Take pictures of a recipe from a recipe book in the store.. ehehe...

Muffin production took us almost a whole day, right up till dinner time. The first 3 attempts went awry...

That is until gung-ho chef Auntie Grace could not bear hiding her amusement observing us 3 lab rats struggling, knowingly what went wrong all the time. And Uncle Peter, the Mighty Whisker, decided to step in too..

And thanks to Gracie's saving grace... *chucklez*

Look at the melting marshmallows
and choc chippies..

Voila~

Mother of all Muffins!!

We could finally rest in peace....

Final class

More sepets as promised~

Portrait beautiful Kimmy!

Hin Yip *ZzZz*

Exhausted Ah Ping Ping~

Cass, the random person, and Teh Fly!

Wow... I attended the FINAL class of my uni life today. From today onwards, I won't be stepping into any classrooms or lecture halls anymore (that is until the last VIVA anyways). No more hogging the back benches, no more squinting to see the white board, no more furious scribbling of notes, no more cat-naps, no more paying attention (or not!) to what is being taught, no more playing truant, no more hushed whispers with friends and the jokes we so often crack at the back of classes... The feeling's simply indescribeable. A dull ache hangs somewhere, taking place of something else that has resided long there but now null and void.

So many "Do you remember?" moments are whizzing through my mind now. Do you remember the time when we'd open fire at Swishy Hair, sighed in desperation at Babariah & good friend Fuziah, kepala pusing with Prof Kwan's notes, sat tentatively for Miss Tan's Food Engineering paper, groaned in agony at our Marketing/ Physics/ IT marks, admire appreciatively at Miss Patricia's beautifully carved face, struggling to understand Dr IvanHoe's jokes, do imitations of Dr Chan's languorous drawl, bummed around with the lab techs, snuck a cosy chat with Dr Lee after lab sessions, crowd around Mr Raju who enjoys our company, detect hickeys on newly married lab tech Sheila, ogle at Mr Patrick's voluptuous behind...the list is simply endless..and that was without touching on our horrendous lab antics.

Those were only the tip of the iceberg, a tiny part from almost 3 years of fond memories stored in a deep crag beneath the depths of the heart, something even Father Time would not be able to erase.. I pray that these precious memories will not fade away from my mind, even after years I'd have left uni life.

On hind note, we sepets scuttled off before anyone could catch us for the class photo this morning. Tsk tsk tsk.. talk about camaraderie. No semangat together-gether at all. Haha! Sorry... scooting's our specialty, after almost 3 years of solid training in uni, escaping from scarily boring lecturers. Well, this is not the end of us yet anyway. We still have a few more months of thesis work to be buried in.

Really looking forward to those days when the sepets are up hand-in-hand in action again! For now, we'll just content ourselves with our grand surprise plan on tuesday and the zoo trip on wednesday. Of course, how can I forget our unscheduled food trip? *winkx* Oi kimmy, I just remembered... aren't we supposed to have a BBQ dinner at your place some day????

Fat Determination

The sepets made a new discovery today, led by head foodie Cass.

Baby $#!Te + Ingestion = Smart child

Go figure.

Everyone had a field day running around the lab in shorts and skirts with calipers and measuring tapes, all with the aim of determining each other's body composition.

The pinchy calipers

Ouch!
Ya gotta hold the calipers @ 90 degrees.
Pinch the flab & measure.

The measuring tape, a girl's dreaded moment of truth
