Foody-licious Weekend!

It has been an eventful weekend, beginning from Friday night itself. The Kuku's bought enough crabs to fill an entire fish tank. Nutters!! I estimated the crabs to be around 17 kg, as 1 kg amounted to RM 16. Because Uncle Peter told me he spent around RM 270 for that.

So we had a 4-day crab fiesta all thanks to babibu Web for sponsoring the whole deal. Friday was "Crab ala Kam Heong" style (by Uncle Peter), Saturday was Baked Crab (by Auntie Grace), Sunday was Lemak Crab (by Uncle Peter again), and Monday was Butter Crab (by Michelle KuHitam aka Shelly)!

Joyous Raya descended upon us on Saturday. As soon as Princess B and Princess N safely reached the Ku Residence, everyone trooped to Uncle Ali Khan & Auntie Zarina's at Bangsar for the yearly open house celebrations! Auntie Zarina's food were lip-smacking as always, with the delicacy mango chutney making its rare appearance. Too bad I didn't have time to take some snaps of the delicious spread. On the other hand, Ali's Angels (Shereen, Shanaaz & Sophie) never fail to impress me with their beautiful designs and decorations in and out of the house.

Midway through the open house, babibu and me had to excuse ourselves and speed off to Plaza Damas to meet up with our former SCB colleague for a lunch appointment. As norm, we hopped off to where else but Paddington's House of Pancake! Babibu jadi Boss again.. hee hee. Look at what we had there:

Chunky fries for everyone!

Chipolata rolls for our kiddo bro, Sean

My main, Blini with minced chicken and tomatoes

Mami YY's main, American style with beef bacon, sunny side up egg ++

Babibu's choice of dollar pancakes
with ice cream, blueberries, banana, strawberries,
grated coconut, crushed nuts and maple syrup
(with a generous dollop of choc at the side)!

The food craze did not wane at all on Sunday even after 2 days of sinful gluttoning. Shortly after Uncle Peter took charge and whipped up a storm in the kitchen... Taa-daa~

Lunch was Fragrant Nasi Lemak accompanied by to-die-for Chicken Rendang, Kangkung Belacan, and Lemak Crab... We also had leftover Garlic Rice Balls from breakfast which was unbelievably tasty whether eaten on its own or with some ginger + onion + garlic pounded chilli. Lunch was served next to the garden, enabling us to enjoy the natural breeze on that relaxing Sunday. Actually I did not touch the crab at all on that day as a result of still jelak-ing from 2 days of crab. hehe.

Princess B had earlier announced on arrival that she wanted to bake 50 muffins for her lecturers and friends. Henceforth, we drag our lazy asses to Carrefour to get the ingredients before lunch. This is what we bakas did there... hur hur hur~

The dainty witches

The smoochy brown witch

And of course, we had no recipes at all due to the last minute informing. So we did exactly what the advent of modern technology would have encouraged us to do. Take pictures of a recipe from a recipe book in the store.. ehehe...

Muffin production took us almost a whole day, right up till dinner time. The first 3 attempts went awry...

That is until gung-ho chef Auntie Grace could not bear hiding her amusement observing us 3 lab rats struggling, knowingly what went wrong all the time. And Uncle Peter, the Mighty Whisker, decided to step in too..

And thanks to Gracie's saving grace... *chucklez*

Look at the melting marshmallows
and choc chippies..

Voila~

Mother of all Muffins!!

We could finally rest in peace....
