Re-living childhood

The morning was spent snooping and sniffing around town, the older part of it... Wish I had a camera with me though.. Lovely sights aplenty: old people sitting in front of ancient and little quaint shops, small side alleys filled with little food stalls, empty streets bustling into life in the early morning...

We blew bubbles, kicked at them from the swing and tried to catch them with our bare hands in the evening... Bliss~ Again, i wish i was carrying a camera with me. I'd love to capture the simple joy and radiance reflected from my beautiful nieces' faces as they indulge in this forgotten past time of children during mine and my forefather's times.. capture them whirling on their little tippy-toes and squealing in amusement as they try to catch each elusive bubble...

to hell with flowers and nosehairs..

Homecoming

It's the 2nd day of homecoming.... Country air still smells the best. But i still miss my Brownie. I took some naughty shots of myself on the phone today. Brownie's gonna get a pleasant surprise pretty soon...hee hee. Excellent news is in the air: darling Chong finally managed to secure a scholarship from Metropolitan College! Isn't it wonderful? Other than that, i had a near-miss accident on the road. I'm grateful to Death for sparing his scythe on me.. giving me many more days to see the beautiful world, to love like I've never loved and to live like I've never lived before~

Live each day as if it's your last!~

True calling

I was flooded by a sudden wave of strong emotion last night while waiting for Brownie to finish his test. The magazine that I was browsing through stirred up old memories of my English tuition classes. Back in those carefree days, it was never a chore for me to attend those classes as I enjoyed the learning process so much. English, to many, is just a dry subject. Especially if it's taught by half-dead, old grumpy teachers who grunt out the verbs and adjectives monotonously.
My journey of English learning was filled with happy memories. My tuition teacher during primary school days put us through reading and grammar practises, comprehension reading and answering exercises, composition-writing practice and various more fun-filled activities. Before each class starts, my teacher will teach us some English songs and make everyone sing along. My favourite part of the tuition would be to greedily sieve through all the reading materials he prepared for us in his "book basket". The drill was pretty much the same in tuition while attending secondary school, albeit having a different teacher who was a good friend of the former one. Only difference is the teacher had a penchant for poetry and would reward us with nice teddy stickers if we did well in spelling and dictation. *chucklez* How i miss those days..
Last night, a most insane thought sprang into my mind... I want to be a teacher, an English teacher for children, a fabulous English teacher, .. and the thought of it made my body trembled.. not out of fear, not out of excitement...but out of sheer surprise and determination. Is this my true calling after all these while?

I rummaged through some old photos and found a picture of my birthday cake 3 years ago.. That was the first time they celebrated my birthday for me... Up till now, it's been 4 years since my A-levels friends and me got acquainted. I'm really grateful that we're all still friends...with greater understanding, and bonds stronger than before..

The first ever apple cake that I'd ever tasted. Believe me, it's scrumptious!

The best things in life are free, and awesome friends are the testament to that!

Great people in the making..

Obviously!

Happy birthday to me..

happy birthday, spunkz..

It's the official day when spunkz gets 22 railway tracks on her forehead! It's supposed to be a joyous day but since last year, birthdays are no longer happy days for spunkz. Perhaps it's the coming of age and the addition of responsibilities i've to undertake. Gah..but most probabaly I'd reckon it's the environment I'm in..

Anyway, sans the depressing part. To begin with last night, I wasn't deluged with a barrage of calls at the struck of the witching hour as like any of the previous years. However, it was heart-warming enough to know that I still have some old friends and new acquaintances who took the effort of sending me birthday wishes mostly through SMSes since last night till now.

As Babibu had already planned a surprise party for me last Saturday along with darling sis Chetty and dearest Jeff, there won't be any celebrations today. Although the company consisted of only Babibu and my 2 close-knit friends, it was more than enough to make my day. I know Babibu went through a lot of pains just to give me this surprise. It was totally sweet of you, my dear. Thank you very much.. and the same goes to sis and chong chong as well. Well, it's a 1st in my life to have an apple-flavoured cake. (^-^) Green apple, yum-yum~ Unbelievably delicious, if you ask me. *lolx* And I really must thank Uncle Peter and Auntie Grace for the fabulous teppanyaki dinner. Love the tuna and jacket fish, marinated streaky pork and pork shoulder meat, enoki and shitake mushrooms, bell-peppers, tofu and other mouth-watering delights!

Still, today was not as uneventful as it seems. Babibu's parents officially "tied the knot" at the Registrar of Marriage near Batu Caves this morning. Babibu was there with Melvin as the witness. Humorous Uncle Peter cracked a joke that he and Auntie Gracelyn had long awaited this day when both their sons are old enough to be the witnesses to their parents' own marriage to save the hassle of troubling other people. *chucklez*

Well Babibu's diligently studying in class now, and i shall patiently wait for his return in the AKLTG office. I've sort of become accustomed to the silence of the office at night, as compared to last time when I had to spend my time here waiting for him initially.

So in the office i shall stay, spending the last few hours of my birthday.. happy birthday, spunkz... you will be stronger soon..regain your crumbled confidence...and stop leaning so heavily against your pillars...

A new beginning

The sky looks downcast from the point where i'm sitting in the office. A rainstorm seems to be imminent, complete with thunder rumbles and streaks of lightning. I'm starting my second blog on this particular day, which hopefully can last, with God's grace. *lolx* I've a knack for starting projects but not ending them, which is truly baaaaaaaad (I know, i know..). I did purposely choose to start it today, though I'd much have preferred tomorrow which not so coincidentally is my birthday. But second thoughts about the possibility of me not having any internet connection tommorow *aaaack!* prompted yours truly to start wriggling her fingers and plonking the itsy-bitsies on the keyboard..tickety-tack...tickety-tack...as the typing goes.
Right now, me and the AKLTG office siaw-kias are deciding on what munchies to have at Mc D. Tee hee hee. No, we're not hungry..just greedy and having a "tooth itch".Of course, being poor kiddos we're going for the Ringgit Mc Savers, save for Nair who's feeling ravenous at the moment. Cincau, Sheena and Queenie are moving the office props, so excusez moi,i need to run to get the food. Hungry folks makes grumpy folks. :)
