With this award, I should tell everyone a bit about the person who gave me the award:

I got to know Nik through my current job. We used to have brekkie together for a while. She's a really dedicated and loving mother and wife. She loves her Mr Aja and her Prince Danial to bits. She can't stop buying clothes for her baby boy. hee hee hee. And oh yeah, she doesn't look like a mummy at all with her youthful face and trim figure. (So stop complaining that you have a perut buncit, sayang). Even though she's petite, she's a fiery cili padi not to be trifled with. Nik's a bubbly personality to be around with & really livens up any occasion. Being a hip and young mama, she plays futsal too! Like me, she also loves to makan!

Next up, 10 things about me.

1. I love to cook as well as eat.
2. I almost always sink into depression at least once a year.
3. I'm good at languages. But somehow, my Cantonese sucks.
4. I like colourful stuff. Favourite colour combination used to be white, black and red.
5. I'd like to own a Volkswagon Combi one day.
6. I adore Domo-kun. Wish I can get its merchandise.
7. I enjoy making cards to give to people.
8. I like sprinting, but not jogging. Don't ask me why.
9. I love singing and dancing. But.. I'm bad at it. I really think so.
10. I enjoy bento-ing very much!

Mr Smiley Sandwiches

I made sandwiches for Gardener and me today. To save time, I cut the bread using the gingerbread man cutter last night and made the facial details using another set of cutters. I finally put the facial cutters which I got from CP to good use. hee. shoppingmum really gave me an impetus to do it. If you're interested to see how the cutters look like, you can click here.

I felt that it was a waste to just take the cute part and decided to leave the cut-out bread in its frame which was just as cute. Then Gardener suggested that we do some colour contrast with brown and white bread. Brilliant~

I only had to butter the bread and fill in the pork floss fillings this morning. Gardener requested for one to be cabbage-filled and I added some mayonnaise to it.

These pictures were actually taken last night as I know I'd not be able to take any this morning. Had them bluetoothed to trusty lappy from Gardener's phone right after that, hence I'm able to blog today. Boy am i glad~

I also cut some celery sticks for Gardener to munch on today. He was so amused to see the cute monkey mayonnaise case and couldn't stop laughing at 'em.

Animal Shape Pasta

I've been hovering between the almost sick, sick and going to recover but nooo... stage for the past one week. During one of those days, I dropped by Tesco with the intention of buying a huge bottle of water to down... only to be seduced by this Animal Shape Pasta!

Going at RM 8+, it was definitely a steal compared to the organic ones I've seen. I couldn't resist and grabbed a packet. *grins proudly*

It has 5 different pasta shapes - elephants, rhinos, giraffes, lions and snakes. Can't wait to stuff 'em in my bento. hee.

On a different incident, I was truly blown away because I met the author of allthingspurple at the housewarming party at C's yesterday. I thought I saw a tiny cherub that looked like her lil daughter and was pretty confirmed when I saw the pretty elder daughter as well. The bento mama was really beautiful in person and they truly make up a handsome family. Hope she churns out more mouth-watering and eye-pleasing bentos because it's a pleasant joy to see her creations, especially on a dry working day. hee.

Because it's Mum's birthday, I'm breaking the MIA (read: Missing In Action) hiatus and finally showing a sliver of life in 2009.

Even though I'm not there physically celebrating with you, I'm sending all my hugs and kisses to YOU! I love you and happy happy birthday, wishing you many happie returns~
 

Initially I wanted to post up some nice pictures of you, but the files were too big. Nonetheless, I'd like to make up for it by posting a goofy one! Whee! (Cue: Spooky, go do the same!)
