Quack lunch

Lunch date was a quack. So I came home and fixed myself a simple lunch instead. Turned out it wasn't a bad idea after all. Got to put one of my new gifts to use - the duck mold.

It looks healthy, doesn't it? Egg on pumpkin seed bread, carrot sticks, salad with raisins and cashews.

Missing from the pikcher, however, was a few strips of roasted honey bacon from Loong Kee, SS2! Hehe, cuzz bought a pack for himself today and got another surprise pack from his admirer later in the noon. Such coincidence! He generously shared it with me. Yumz! Artery clogging goodness is so hard to turn down. It was obscenely decadent and owh.. the sticky crisp parts were my fave.

Happy monday, y'all!

Baking Class with Fatboybakes at The Cooking House

We're finally over the hump now, at least for this week.

Now here's breaking news that's more orgasmic than having a foreplay session with batter, caressing those measuring cups, licking the ganache and fondling the pillowy bag of cream that you're gonna pipe.

Join master baker and celebrity blogger Fatboybakes

on 22 August 2009 (Saturday)

at The Cooking House, Desa Sri Hartamas for his inaugural baking class!

(screenshot from the Cooking House website)

With the class being more cosy and intimate, participants will definitely have plenty of personal attention from the Master Baker himself.

Aye... sweet dreams are made of this..

Domo-kun Hash Browns - Phailed

While waiting for his snoring majesty (the cuzz) to stir from his sleep this morning, I ran through my usual blog roll routine. Anna the Red caught my immediate focus with this attention-grabbing headline:

Hic. I almost hyperventilated on the spot.

Domo-kun's like, [INSERTS rabid fan rave]. Yah, i worship him.

In case anyone wanna know more about Domo-kun (どーもくん) , point your cute mousie and clickety-click.

Sooo, I decided to replicate them as a surprise for Mr Buu whom I'll be 'forsaking' for the coming 3 days due to another work trip outstation. Except plans hardly turn out the way I want 'em.

You see, I went out with the cuzz for brekkie this morning. And reached home only at 5 pm.

Then hor... Mr Buu knocked off at 6 pm. Geddit geddit? I only have 1 freaking hour to work with on top of delivery!

Siow liow.... o_O"

There there, a thrown-off-the-track me ditched all the initial plans and dove from croquettes to ---->

hash browns
[I know, store bought hash brown sibeh not sincere (-_-"). I... I.... promise to make Buu-san the original croquettes soon]

Terengganu- 1 Day Stopover

An anachronistic turn of events had me sitting on my first plane ride heading for the east coast. Virginal experience comes in pairs, as it was also the first time I set my less travelled feet atop the Land of Turtles and one day later, the Land of Full Moon.

Here are a few morning shots which I took from my room in Terengganu:

What better way to start the day by admiring this beautiful stretch of beach... nature's grandeur that stokes the primal sense of wanderlust. Ahh.. wouldn't I love to throw away my mundane obligations and soak in this carefree spirit of endless roaming? Oh, I would.. I would. Even if it's just for a day.

Strapped with duties, my first and only day here was regretfully spent with roadshows. Left with scarcely any time to explore the Land of Turtles, I can only hope to return some day soon. Next time round, I'll definitely put Pasar Payang on top of my must-go list aside from the keropok lekors and other local foods I missed. Rest assure, I will...

Watch out for my Kelantan series in the coming few posts. Meanwhile, have a great weekend at that!
